I'm going for my birthday this week. I know that I should try the seafood martini. But my question is what is the norm as far as attire goes. I wear a suit to work, should I just keep it on or will I be overdressed? Is a coat required? Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

There must be 12 threads on the Pelican Club on this board right now.
As for your question, a coat is not necessary, but you will not feel overdressed wearing one.

I went yesterday. Me and my family wore slacks and button downs and were the nicest dressed people in the restaurant. Some people even came in shorts, tshirts, and flip flops (which I couldnt believe). You do not need a coat or tie and will definitely be dressed appropriately.
FYI the seafood fricassee is awesome.
