I like Atlanta and all, but wouldn't it be a lot more fair if the game alternated years between the Superdome and the Georgia Dome?

Or,

If they weren't that concerned about weather in early December, they could rotate it between the Georgia Dome, Superdome, Jacksonville Jaguars' Stadium, and Titans' Stadium.

Thoughts?

Nashville in December would be too cold. Everywhere else is farther for all teams in the SEC than Atlanta, with the exception of Florida, so moving it to New Orleans would not just be a disadvantage to the East teams.

ha ha. in the thread about ou fans whining DaBike says 'playing the sec championship game in atl every year is an advantage to some teams, but you never hear LSU crying...

the bottom line is every alternate site has disadvantages that outweigh any benefit of a fair geographical location.

Charlotte? good god that's acc country.

Keep it in a Dome, for sure...no reason why it can't be in New Orleans and Atlanta.

The question is, though...is anyone in New Orleans actively trying to lure that game to NO?

It should not be in New Orleans due to the fact that the winner would in all liklihood have to come back in a month to play the sugar bowl. Other than LSU and Bama, most fan bases would have a hard time making the trip twice in a month.

I am okay with Atlanta, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa. Birmingham is too cold in December, as is Nashville.

i like it in Atlanta and if you moved it to New Orleans for even a year, the ACC would jump on a long term deal. Would love to have it in New Orleans, but i just don't ever see it being moved.

Doesn't matter much to me.

I would much rather have our Eastern division opponent rotated each season...

how big is the georgia dome? surley some of these SEC stadiums are bigger. this would allow more tickets to be sold making more money.

No. It should be played in Baton Rouge every year.

Fair thing to do would be move it to Vaught-Hemingway. Then there would never be any possibility of a home field advantage.

This is a non-issue every time a thread like this is started.

The two schools who are furthest from Atlanta are a combined 3-4 in SECCG's.

The four schools who are furthest from Atlanta are a combined 9-6 in SECCG's.

Clearly it's fair enough.

Oxford MS will always be a neutral site and pretty central... Run that by Mr. Slive...

Yes. The B12 rotates their game & it seems to work very well.

I really don't have a problem with the location...I do however, have a problem with the way that all post season tickets are distributed...if the team from the west literally got half of the tickets, then I would not have a problem with it staying in atlanta...
