Just seems really "hokey" to see people from La wearing beads when it's not Mardi Gras.

Kinda like seeing people at a NASCAR race with beads on

Omaha loves LSU fans.

ESPN loves LSU fans.

The beads on nice-looking LSU fans have been a hit on ESPN.

No problem.

I disagree. The Mardi Gras beads are seen as indigenous to Louisiana and associated, by outsiders, in a very favorable way with LSU. It reinforces that "let the good times roll" perception that people have about LSU fans. The same cannot be said for people wearing them at NASCAR events.

Being that 2 of our Football National Championship have happened in New Orleans and we are a Louisiana school, I think the Mardi Gras beads are great and unique.

Focus on other things.

I agree with you there buddy. Especially when they are walking around Rosenblatt throwing beads around like they are in a parade. I mean, if you're from Louisiana then you must have a stash of Mardi Gras bead at your house, right?

Every Louisianian has a bag of beads at home just like every Leprechaun has a pot of gold.

I love the beads...in fact, most other schools have copied LSU and have beads made in their school colors.Having travelled in the post-season with the football team & women's basketball team, handing out Mardi Gras beads is not only a tradition but also a way to make friends in the cities where post-season events are held. I once was hailed by a coliseum worker for beads in Knoxville while at a Regional...it's not hokey, it's Louisiana and I'm proud of my State, my Team, and My beads!

only LSU fans from new orleans should be allowed to wear mardi gras beads to any sporting event. all other fans should be restricted to only wearing beads to events that take place in new orleans

I prefer to keep trappings of holidays like tossing beads confined the the time of the yr of the holiday. Such traditions lose their specialness when they happen all yr. Wearing & tossing beads in June seems as absurd as wearing red stocking Santa Claus hats & kissing under mistletoe in June.

Yes, to answer any questions, I am the type that complains about stores displaying Christmas decorations in Sept.

I hate it when fans of other teams (not LA) teams) wear Mardi Gras beads--except, maybe, from the Mobile area. But I also kinda like it in that it sorta pays a tribute of a sort to NO LA.

Some of you people really need to get over yourselves. Is your life so empty and your skin so thin that you have nothing else to bitch about?
