I nearly lost it when he swung at that high 2-0 pitch.

Should have been taking until he got a strike for sure.

Anyone have any idea why Hanover was swinging at terrible pitches?

My best guess is nerves and adrenaline. He was so anxious to try and make something happen.

I think the entire team running out of the dugout when someone scores is bush league and douchebaggary but it seems to be common place

I agree, I think meeting someone outside the dugout is fine but the meetings at the plate gets a little old.

Also, was I the only one who thought their post HR platefests needed to speed up a bit? Looked like Bull Durham "Well, candlesticks are always nice."

I’d like to add the jackoff that was standing on the railing in the dugout doing the umpire’s homerun motion during and after the homeruns.

Anyone have any idea why Hanover was swinging at terrible pitches? He should have been begging for a walk. I wonder what he was told. He did not help our cause. The bases were loaded. They showed the teammates in the dugout and they were cringing.

Because Hanover doesn't walk -- just 12 for the year in 209 ABs. That's the fewest on the team among those with 100 ABs and he also has the lowest ratio of BBs to ABs of those who've played any significant time. Heck, Chad Jones has 9 walks in 35 ABs and Pontiff has 8 in 43 ABs. That's why Hanover has a .357 OB%, which is the lowest on the team of the guys who've started at least 30 games this year.

That's why Helenihi is still playing 3B, even though his hitting has sucked in the CWS -- Hanover isn't a significantly better offensive player. With a year to learn better plate discipline, I expect Hanover to be a much better hitter next year.

Honestly, that's why nobody really likes Texas except a Texan. Their potential is only overshadowed by their egos and arrogant entitlement.

I find it interesting how the Rant gets people so fired up about stuff that most people never noticed on their own.

I watched the whole game and the only thing that pissed me off was the broken belt thing. It seemed like a ploy to me. The trash talk, skipping, guys in the dugout, curtain call etc, was not that big a deal and didn't make me hate UT any more than I do now.

Now, it does piss me off to go over to their Hairy arse Bevo site and read the threads talking bad about LSU and Louisiana...but there are many threads like that over here bashing Texas.

The bottom line is we won and in a spirit crushing manner. They used more pitchers than we did and their probable starter for tonights game.
They have to beat us two in a row and that just isn't going to happen. We will close them out tonight after hanging 10+ on them.

What about the "broken belt trick"?

Took that pitches 5 minutes to put on a freaking belt then the trainer gives the reporter a belt that was obviously cut in half by the trainer not broke. It made it even more obvious it was a ploy.

that was fricking BUSH. BUSH.

And to the Texas fan that saw nothing wrong with the dude curtain calling in the 4th inning of a one run game...you have never played or watched much baseball have you? Seriously? MLB players do it, but not all the time. driving in 6 or 7 runs...knocking in the go ahead run in the bottom of the 8th in a playoff game...having a great game after slumping, have a great game after coming back from an injury...not after a 4th inning solo shot. I can guarantee you will never see a MLB player do that shite.

I agree with this. The broke belt was bad.

I get more tired of hearing Oral talk about "when I was in the majors." And I know-he was-he was great-but he's done.

UT Baseball = Bush League
Curtain calls, skipping after homeruns, "broken belt" to warm up the bullpen, and trash talk after pitcher records an out...all examples of Bush League play. And no Texas fan can argue that none of this happened and that it wasn't Bush League.
