First off he was a mid-week starter for a while until Arky turned him into a weekend starter late in the season. He was a very high draft pick so he has loads of potential but has had a spotty year at best with a 4.61 ERA (keep in mind, that's with a lot of starts against mid-week, non SEC competition).

With all that said here are his game-by-game stats from this year. He's started all 16 games he's pitched in.

(1) 2/24/09 vs. Kansas = 2.1 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, 3 K, 1 BB
(2) 3/04/09 vs. Valpo = 4.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 6 K, 0 BB
(3) 3/10/09 @ Centenary = 1.1 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 K, 0 BB
(4) 3/17/09 vs. Nebraska = 2.0 IP, 0 H, 1 ER, 1 K, 5 BB
(5) 3/25/09 vs. Missouri St = 4.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 7 K, 1 BB
(6) 3/31/09 @ Missouri St = 4.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 5 K, 0 BB
(7) 4/07/09 vs. Arizona St = 5.0 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 3 K, 3 BB
(8) 4/14/09 vs. Louisiana Monroe = 3.0 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 K, 2 BB
(9) 4/19/09 @ Georgia = 9.0 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 12 K, 3 BB
(10) 4/25/09 @ Tennessee = 4.1 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 4 K, 3 BB
(11) 5/03/09 vs. LSU = 3.2 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 2 K, 0 BB
(12) 5/10/09 @ Bama = 6.0 IP, 6 H, 5 ER, 6 K, 2 BB
(13) 5/15/09 vs. Ole Miss = 5.1 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 3 K, 3 BB
(14) 5/21/09 vs. Georgia = 6.0 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 4 K, 4 B
(15) 5/30/09 @ Oklahoma = 5.2 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 4 K, 4 BB
(16) 6/06/09 @ Florida St = 4.2 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 4 K, 2 BB

Year Stats: 70.1 IP, 4.61 ERA, .236 opp/avg, 66 K, 33 BB

Stats as a weekday starter: 25.2 IP, 21 H, 27 K, 12 BB, 3.51 ERA

Good stuff...

Here is my prediction:

Jared Mitchell goes 3-3 vs. this guy and the masses will not give him credit, but instead say stuff like "then why doesn't he do that against a lefty" and "so what, he still sucks"

we should be able to chase this guy quick. not too long of stints.

pretty comforting stats. hasn't had an above-average outing since complete game 1 hitter against UGA in april.

Outside of his one 9 inning game, he never went longer than 6. If we can get to Arkansas' middle relief, we should be ok. Their closer is pretty good though...I would prefer to be well ahead by then.

The question should be: how is their bullpen considering all of his short stints!
