First off he was a mid-week starter for a while until Arky turned him into a weekend starter late in the season. He was a very high draft pick so he has loads of potential but has had a spotty year at best with a 4.61 ERA (keep in mind, that's with a lot of starts against mid-week, non SEC competition).
With all that said here are his game-by-game stats from this year. He's started all 16 games he's pitched in.
(1) 2/24/09 vs. Kansas = 2.1 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, 3 K, 1 BB
(2) 3/04/09 vs. Valpo = 4.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 6 K, 0 BB
(3) 3/10/09 @ Centenary = 1.1 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 K, 0 BB
(4) 3/17/09 vs. Nebraska = 2.0 IP, 0 H, 1 ER, 1 K, 5 BB

Good stuff...
Here is my prediction:
Jared Mitchell goes 3-3 vs. this guy and the masses will not give him credit, but instead say stuff like "then why doesn't he do that against a lefty" and "so what, he still sucks"

we should be able to chase this guy quick. not too long of stints.

pretty comforting stats. hasn't had an above-average outing since complete game 1 hitter against UGA in april.

Outside of his one 9 inning game, he never went longer than 6. If we can get to Arkansas' middle relief, we should be ok. Their closer is pretty good though...I would prefer to be well ahead by then.

I'd rather Eibner stay in there as long as possible. Arkansas' relief pitching has been WAY better than their starting pitching this year. Bolsinger is a terror. Richards is a hell of a closer.
Our best bet is Bolsinger can't go or can't go much on Monday. He threw 53 pitches in 3 innings yesterday. I don't doubt they'll use him though if they need to shut us down.
T.J. Forrest might be their first guy out of the pen.

if my memory serves me correctly, the bullpen gave us fits in our series with arky

That's putting it nicely.

Too bad we have to face each other so soon. Would have loved to see an all SEC Championship game. This should be a classic SEC Showdown.

glad that we have seen him before

Yeah...strange how they put both SEC teams in the same bracket, yet separate Virginny and the Tar Heels.
That kind if thing always pisses me off.

Maybe we can get a repeat of this

forgive me if i'm wrong but isn't it true that if we win and arky wins the loser bracket, they would play the other brackets winners bracket champ and we would play the other loser bracket winner so in theory we could meet in the finals?
like i said, i could totally be wrong

.
There were SEC teams in every regional pairing. These two just happened to make it to Omaha. It ain't like it was a conspiracy

They didn't re-seed after the regionals. If UF would've handled USM then they would've been on the other side.

no flip-flop in current CWS format... teams will only compete within their bracket, until only one team is left, then that bracket winner team advances to best-of-three winner-take-all championship series against winning team from other bracket...
