The Glee thread got me thinking about this. I think its easy to forget what a great coming of age/high school flick this is because of all the terrible sequels and the ranuchy gags like the the pie bit, pale ale, stifler's mom, etc. that were funny and great for box office word of mouth at the time, but don't exactly add to a movie's long term legacy.
IMO, if you forget about all that and just watch it as a Breakfast Club type study of high school life, I actually think its one of the better looks at relationships in high school that I've seen.
I think it actually gets better with age and has been slowly climbing my list of all time comedies.
Thoughts?

couldnt have said it better, the first couple of sequels weren't that bad either, where they had the original cast
after that it got a little nuts

One of the funniest comedies of all time. I was always amazed at how committed the young actors were to there craft to do some of the raunchy scenes from the movie. Jason Biggs scenes with the pie and with the girl in his room was unflattering, hilarious and something probally alot of other actors would not have wanted to do.
Alison line about and one summer at band camp was totally unexpected and a line that I do not beleive a lot of other young female stars would have attempted to deliver.
What else can be said about Eugene levy's perfomance other then great
Great cast and great comedy.

i've always thought jason biggs plays such a great douchebag role. my favorite scene has to be in american wedding when he and finch are in the kitchen while michelle's parents are in the other room and that whole situation with the strippers and velvedeire.

A lady at work was telling me about all the camps her middle school aged daughter would be attending this summer. The list included soccer camp, basketball camp and cheerleader camp. Since I know that her daughter plays the saxaphone, I asked why she wouldn't be going to band camp. A horrified look came across her face and she said, "My daughter's NEVER going there!!"
Hell, before that movie, most people had never even heard of band camp.
