In hindsight, I probably should have left more. And honestly, I don't blame her, because I have a feeling they didn't inform her (obviously) that we were there for dessert only. We still got good overall service, it just wasn't a very "personal" experience one would usually expect from that caliber of a restaurant.

The other thing is I purposely made the reservation as late as possible on Sunday since I knew we were only doing the tasting. My original reservation was for 10:30, then they called me back and asked if I could move it up to 9 pm, at which point I re-iterated we were doing the tasting only.

I do feel bad for not leaving more, but not too bad.

I do not think you tipped badly and never ment to imply that....No excuse for the waiter to not be checking on you....even if it was a mistake to seat you at her table...she should have just sucked it up and concentrated on your enjoyment...so I think the tip was as good as your service.

I think that's what probably happened, that she either didn't know or forgot. I do feel like noting (because of other comments) that when I went last week (wrote a recap on here), I felt like it was either the best, or tied for the best, service I have ever had. I think you would be hard pressed to find genuinely better service anywhere.
