WOW. I hope my son, the Doctor, doesn't get wind of this. For some reason, I thought teaching him to work hard and expect no HAND OUTS will lead to success. I'll also pass it on to my other son, the Insurance Agent, and my Daughter, the Teacher and mother of 2.
Next time your kid comes in 2nd, be sure to get that trophy for effort.

Congrats on your success as a Dad. I guess my question is, when you accidentally bump someone, you don't say a quick "sorry about that" or "my bad"?
If not, then hopefully your kids are more courteous than you, cuz you might be an a-hole.
and by the way, this has absolutely nothing to do with work ethic or expecting a hand out...you are confusing hard work with common courtesy.
