1) The Kid is NOT on the court, he's on the floor in front of his seat. If he were on a sidline of a football field, you would not say he's on the field.
2) Baby could have easily gone inside the ref and stayed on the court.
3) The kid was not really in his path. There was really no reason to put hands on him
and most importantly...
4) The kid was bumped. Not hurt. People bump into each other every day. The kid's father has made this situation what it is, and he will soon regret the unneccessary abuse he will have put his kid through.

actually he was.
hence the term "courtside seats"

That angle is terrible. He tried not to knock the ref over and was (very slightly) off balance. The arm that went on the kid was just a stabalizer. A small push from a 300 pounder to a kid who isn't expecting it will always look bad.
FWIW running up and down the sidelines gets agravating even in high school settings such as playoffs or big district games where there are a shite ton of students on the "court/sideline" coming from a referee perspective. The players on the bench are even only able to stand up for a moment of non-premeditated celebration

and usually we say sorry.....why should Davis be asked for an apology..shouldn't he just apologize on his own?
If someone bumped into your child, you would expect them to say sorry.
Funny how you can tell which posters have kids and which rantards don't.

I agree that the kids dad sucks huge balls. In the video it looks like he goes off the court to keep from running into the official. He did push the kid not intentionally, but that's better than what he could have done to that chunky nonathletic kid. If it was me I'd apologize to the kid before the game, and tell him I was caught up in the moment and it was not on purpose. Then pee on the dad.
