NCAA Probation

what exactly does it mean to be put on "probation?"

is this different than the NCAA just temporarily removing some scholarships>?

Yes. Removing scholarships is a different sanction than probation. Probation is a period during which the program is subjected to heightened penalties for further misconduct.

Yeah Right. We will see if thats true in the Bama case. Their infractions in my opinion were minor but they did occur during probation and occured repeatedly.

Yeah, usually you lose scholarships in addition to postseason eligibility, OOC scheduling, etc.
