It is kind of shitty though, ULL was allowed the name change in 84 only to have it over turned by the state.ULM never wanted to change its name either. Seems like no one really got what they wanted.
My question is why was the name change in 84 shot down? I dont honestly believe that LSU officials were threatened, but it does seem odd and doesnt make much sense.
ULL is more then a regional college with its population base and courses of study. (also just about 2x larger then the other regional colleges in the state) It probably should be recognized as UL, however, until it is, I have no problem calling it ULL. It's not like its some terrible curse to have the extra L.
