for anybody bashing JL, you have no clue how hard the QB position is to play. True JL stunk it up out there, but he was only a freshman. Just because he knew the playbook did not mean he was going to come out and WOW everybody. If i had a guess, most of the people bashing him are out of shape and could never play the QB position. I doubt anybody on this board ever held a scholarship offer from any major D1 program. The kid was a FRESHMAN. Dont expect him to come out gunslinging the ball around and throwing 3 td's a game. What miles and crowton should have done is simplify the playbook in the same manner in which they are now doing with the defense. He should have come out throwing short quick passes that got him in a comfort zone. he never got comfortable in games because he had everyone going against him before the game even started. We didnt need him to win games this season. Just avoid the mistakes. I think if the LSU "fans" would have shown him a little confidence, he might have shown some in himself. I was one of the fans who would bash lee, but being a former QB i know there is a lot of pressure on him to play well, because there is no harder position to play. In the case that JJ does go down, you will be happy to know we have someone with experience like Lee. He had no prior game experience prior to this season. Practice is not the same thing as the game no matter how you look at it. So give Lee a break and cheer for him to be a good backup next year.

Not again. Please make it stop.

Now I have no choice but to point out that, JL was the 4th highest rated freshman QB in the country at the time of his injury. The 3 before him did not play in bcs conferences.

source: espn quarterback rankings

Just stop. Please stop.

That said, I think JJ is also a tremendously talented player and am thrilled he's at LSU.

Amen Brother!
Some of these ranters think they could play better than Lee at QB, and coach better than Miles. Quit trying to relive the glory days a-holes!

Why can't we bash Jarrett Lee? He truly sucked. So what if I can't play QB, it's not my job to, it's his - and he did a terrible job at it.

In the same respect, why is it okay for everyone to bash whoever the President is, knowing full well that they can't do that job or handle the pressure? It's the same way. I'm sure almost all of you people saying stop bashing Lee have bashed either Bush or Obama at one time in your life. So stop crying about people bashing Lee when you're in the same "boat" for bashing somebody else.

I don't see how so many people are so defensive of Lee when he played so horribly. Jefferson is clearly the better QB, and that showed in the Bowl game.

Maybe some of us do actually know how hard the position is to play.....Do we still not have a right to bash?

FWIW, I'm just as tired of "stop bashing JL" threads as I am of any bashing.

+1.
Couldn't say any better. Some of his INTs should be on GC's plays calling also.

Excellent post.

You are pissing in the wind if you expect clueless geeks are going to stop bashing people.

Bashing is the only way these idots build up their punny little egos.

I'm 6'3 and a half inches.
I weigh over 265 lbs.
I might have been sacked 50 times because of my "lack of speed" but I would not have thrown
as many pick "sick-sis" as JL. Shut the f up. We can criticize as we see fit. We pay to watch him play. If he don't have thick skin and worries about what others say, he shouldn't be a Div. I Q.B. But guess what? I still love J. Lee. But he sucked horribly last year so don't try to sugarcoat it. You are also right saying the coaches should have altered the playbook for him but how do you alter a playbook when it's 3rd and 16 when we have to throw? The kid was HORRIBLE any way you want to look at it.
