Sounded like a 4-2-5 would be the "Base" defense, with that "5th" defensive back being a hyrid LB/Safety, or what LSU fans know as an "OLE LOU" Linebacker. Looks like Chavis wants to eliminate "bringing in" the nickel package and just use the 4-2-5 as the base and bring in the dime (6 DB's) on obvious passing situations. That would simplify things considerably. It will cut down on substitutions and SHOULD eliminate all the mass confusion that was seen last year. Like I've been saying, let'em play without having to "Think" too much......
