McCoy was a 3 star recruit and RP didn't end up going to Texas.
I know they don't have a problem recruiting multiple big time QB's, but I don't know of any programs who can recruit 2 5* QB's in the same year.

And yet Mack Brown will continue to underachieve year in and year out with his collection of ridiculous talent. It's unacceptable that the University of Texas has only made one championship game in 10 years.

shep wasn't a QB for UT and they pressured him into a quick decision on that issue. he declined to commit
i dont' think they gave up, but when he quickly committed to LSU they didn't really put forth a lot of resources tog et him
