I've got an older HD TV. It's a big Sony from probably around 2003ish. It doesn't have HDMI but does have DVI. I bought the HDMI/DVI chord and plugged it in the back of hte TV and the option screen pops up saying that there has been an HDMI detected and asks if I want to go with HD or not. Everytime I click yes I end up getting a blank screen. I'm assuming it's something wrong with the tv. Any thoughts?

Your TV may be capable of only doing 1080i and not converting, but the PS3 is set to output 1080p or 720p

I would imagine there is a way to tell the PS3 to output everything in whatever resolution your TV is. I know you can do it on the 360 and on my cable box.
