Deke's delivery is pretty bad. Like people said, he cuts down callers and talks down to them.

However he is pretty well rounded on all sports and can carry a conversation on just about anything.

But I think WWL has always been overrated. Even Buddy D. I thought his spiel was pretty stale after a while. It's just all the New Orleans has, so people think its great. In reality its only average.

you are totally right. WWL is a heritage station. It will always be the number one station in New Orleans. It's like KMOX in St.Louis or WGN in Chicago. You can try to compete but you won't beat WWL. There is nothing remotely engaging about anybody on WWL. It's just simple radio. I'm sure Deke and Bobby pull in some nice coin for what they do. More power to them.

Bobby is paid around 100K annually.

He's well liked, kind of like Buddy D, and draws ratings, but his sports knowledge is pretty limited to football. Listening to him talk Hornets or MLB is pretty funny. But this is a football town, so that goes far.

New Orleans is such a unique market that you really have to be a New Orleanian from people to really accept you. That is why guys like Buddy D, Deke and Bobby Hebert are so well liked. It's why guys like Gerry V don't stand a chance. It's a very unique market

yeah, he's a real cool dude. he used to go to class every day even though they never checked on him for football or anything and he'd talk shite to me about missing a lot.
