Not in full panic mode yet, but I am going to be disappointed if we let Vilma slip away.

If the Saints already faxed his agent our offer last night and we haven't heard anything back this can't be a good sign.

:omg:

If this guy tells you to calm down, you should do so...he is all knowing and has single handedly raised the intelligence of this board. I am now smarter for reading his comments.

You are right, but I think his agent knows other teams are interested so he is milking the cow. Tampa is a leverage for him they are going 3-4 on D that's why he wanted out NY

Actually, I think Tampa wants him to play outside in the 4-3

Tampa was lining him up to visit today. There will be no word until after that at the earliest.

Anti NOLA- Florida boy; Bucs definitely have the ability to outbid the saints in pure dollars

Pro NOLA- He's here and likes it; has to know GW will be a strong positive vs. a rebuild unknown in TB; MLB leader here TB will require move to WLB (not the same but 3-4 change for NYJ didn't do him good)

If he splits it ain't the end of the world. That will be dollars they spend elsewhere. For MLB there's Mike Peterson etc. Hell, maybe pay Ray Lewis crazy one or two year money. Maualuga and Laurinitis types to draft also.

Pro NOLA- Drew Brees' Offense and Gregg Williams Defense

I have no idea who's tampa's qb nor d coordinator is/will be.

Stay far away from Laurinitis. I used to love the guy, but I had a change of heart when Peter King wrote about it the other day in MMQB. He said that his favorite question of the combine came from a coach to Laurinitis. The coach asked him:

"Tell me something,'' the coach said. "When is the last time a linebacker from Ohio State came to the NFL and was worth a s---?''

I love this question, and it rings so true. Hawk, Carpenter and Katzenmoyer all were supposed to be the real deal; yet, none of them have done much, if anything, in the league. I've read a few articles about this since the King piece, and they all said the same thing.

Now this doesn't mean Laur. will stink it up, but it makes one worry

My motto is February and March is the best time to be a Saints fan- hope springs eternal. I've had some Super Bowl springs following this team forever.

Don't worry until the day is over. Doesn't bode well for Saints to drag this out. Why wouldn't this deal be done yet?

Because Vilma is taking his time making sure he accepts the best deal and makes the best decision for his future and isn't a jackass making a hasty decision for no reason.
