He seems to fit the budget. If they can get one useful year out of him it'll be a worthwhile move. I'd love to see a 2nd Rd pick added with a Delmas/Rashad Johnson. He could be mentored by a Sharper-type and eased into increased playing time.

GW stated that the safeties in his schemes were more interchangeable, not as divided between free and strong roles. That could be very helpful in scheming who plays in what packages together on different down and distance scenarios. I wouldn't be surprised to see versatile Gay back there some. We dunno if McKenzie will be back at all but that does sound like a good option for him too- especially if we add a first round corner in the draft. Maybe his old Packer buddy Sharper can show him the tricks.

sorry to call you out eyeran, but it was all the doubs like this, that are now a testament as to why Sharper is playing with a giant chip on his shoulders.
