LSU called "mid major" on sporting news

It isn't much but Sporting News did have a little section on LSU basketball calling the Tigers "mid major" while having a picture of Thornton on the front page.

I don't think the author quite grasps the concept of 'mid major' as it pertains to college basketball.

He's saying their resume appears similar to that of a mid-major.

I think what some of the posters are trying to say is that the term Mid Major technically has nothing to do with how good of a basketball team you are
