Oh, here comes the flood of memories.

I camped out on the ramp for every big game from the beginning of the 80-81 season until the end of the 91-92 season. In the early days, I tried bringing a sleeping bag and a lawnchair, but eventually realized that they were useless. As much as I wanted to, I could never get any sleep, so I gave up the pipe-dream of trying to sleep. Some people would actually set up tents. We would spend the time drinking, throwing the football on the ramp, and playing tapes on the ghetto blaster.

Even for lowly mid-week games, I always got to the assembly at least 3 hours before tip-off. The doors would open 2 hours before the game started, but I had to make sure that I got my favorite seats for me and the girlfriend. They were on the center aisle, 3 rows from the floor. Those seats don't even exist anymore, since they pushed the front edge of the student section back. The student section used to go all the way to the floor.

That game was one of my best BB memories. Me and the buds lined up on the ramp at say 8:oo AM. We were just hanging out and waiting when I decided to take a little "walk".

I found an exterior door open, on the backside of the PMAC. Anyway I walked on in, till I got to the inside. I said shite where can I hide/hangout for a few hours till they open the gate?

The TV guys were settin up the cameras, so I hoofed it up to one of the highest cameras. I walked up and dude says whats up. I asked if I could just hang with him for a while, he said he didnt give a shite, hes just a camera guy. He knew I had snuck in.

So for the next 2-3 hours I was a tv camera tech. Was really cool.

Anyway I was up there with him till they opened the gates, and guess who got front row seats ??
