That's always puzzled me too. History: My dad, who graduated L.S.U. in 1925 told me in the 1940's and 50's that L.S.U. had won the national football championship in 1908. Then after the 1958 championship he used to say L.S.U. won the championship every 50 years. Of course, he was not in college or even reading in 1908. this is just oral history. I wish someone could research the details and give us the facts.
With all the bogus championships claimed by Alabama and Ole Miss I think we should claim the old ones if they are factual, not bogus. It is a diservice to LSU's history if we do not.
