Extended warranty

So I buy a couple of water filters for the fridge (they actually do a great job of making tap water taste much better). They are supposed to be changed every 6 months. I am offered an extended warranty on them good for 3 years. Should I have accepted or is fricking with corporate America a pointless pastime? Prolly the latter.

I think you would be wasting your money, they would probably tell you it covers three years of shelf life or six months of use, whichever comes first.
I had a vehicle with a three year warranty, but the battery was a five year duralast(in big letters on the battery). When the vehicle was four years old, the battery went out and Duralast wouldn't take it back because the car warranty had expired.
If you turn down every extended warranty ever offered to you, you will come out way ahead.
