Not really. Yes, it is mostly a zone and a "bend don't break" defense. With any defense, it is up to the coaches to modify it to fit the talent, skill level, overall team philosophy and so on.

I mean, a spread is not all four wideouts right nor does it mean the QB has to be in a shotgun all the time.
