i think wendell blew out both of his knees on one play. they got caught under the seem in the turf at philly i think. archer blew wndell davis' freshman year on eight plays, he later admitted he wished he hadn't done it.

You are correct. That turf was so horrible. I remember watching the highlights and was sad for Davis. Same place that claimed Michael Irvin's career too.
