Pre-Saban, our secondary got regularly torched but has been purty strong before this year- from what I recall off the top of my head.

For the past few years... with the obvious exception of this year, all aspects of LSU's defense have been well disciplined.

IMO, the secondary has been better than pretty good for the past several years. But the run defense at LSU has been very stout-- always top 5, and the pass defense maybe top 10 or so. Until mid last year or so, I felt it was nearly impossible for opponents to run on LSU, but they might get a little luckier passing. Just my opinion.

I'm just curious if other people have observed Chavis coached defenses being more successful with one aspect or the other.
