Oh for Christ's sake.
We (the allies) did not come to help those that "were dying in the gas chambers and ovens"; otherwise, Amercia would have entered the war earlier when it was known that was happening, not rejected boat-loads of Jews trying to escape the German Socialists Workers' Party, etc.
Rather, the US joined to help protect our strategic partners, which, in effect, had the consequence of protecting the Jews.
