I was technically wrong on my prediction that the top 5 the rest of the year would probably be:
1) Larson
2) White
3) Jones
4) Pearson
5) Travinski
But I was right in suggesting that Jay wants to 1) make sure his best hitters get as many ABs as possible, 2) wants to score in the 1st, and 3) will try to alternate RH/LH as much as possible so teams can't go same-handed pitchers against hitters in late game situations. I thought 1-3 would be Larson, Tommy, and Jones. But this lineup makes sense based on that same thought process. Would prefer a little more speed from leadoff, but Tommy is just as likely to hit a leadoff double as Larson and more likely to get a fastball he can hit and start the game 1-0 after 1 batter. I kinda like it. I wonder if he continues it this weekend.
I still think Anderson could be really good THIS year. I haven't given up on him yet at all. I liked the idea of starting Hurd tonight to maybe get his confidence up, but Anderson starting could work out too. If he goes out and shoves like he did against Southeastern, maybe he takes that confidence and can start getting SEC weekend outs. He's got the stuff. I think he's got the mentality. He just needs the confidence to keep his command. We'll see what the interesting moves tonight produce.
