re: Best ways to keep squirrels out of vegetable garden?

We have shot or trapped 18 in the last 2 years. The little woman has gotten good with her air pistol. This is mainly to keep them from digging in the pots and flower beds. We also have some tomatoes, peppers and herbs on the upper deck. One thing that hasn't been mentioned that works for pots: place plastic forks tines up, handle deep in the soil. That works almost all the time, but they are spiteful little bastards.
