re: Former pack a day smokers, how long after quitting did the cravings finally go away?

Recently had a friend who was a pack a day smoker started with a simple cough then started tasting a little blood with the cough. Drs found a smoking caused tumor the size of a baseball in his left lung.
He went from a energetic healthy guy to an 80 lb skeleton in 4 months then died. If that won't stop anyone from smoking Nothing will.
