DOTD, animal control attempts to recover pig on Government Street I-10 off-ramp

Not the 1st time a pig has been running wild on Government Street. Matter of fact, the next time the legislature is in session there’s probably going to be several more daily. It’s an election session.

Don’t know about that time, but in 1978 a cattle wagon turned over coming off the bridge. I was headed west and wondered why I wasn’t seeing any cars on the eastbound side. Then I saw some cows trotting eastbound with some deputies chasing them.
In about a week, a westbound meat wagon with hanging beef flipped over in the curve approaching the bridge, spilling cargo into the park below.
The authorities then closed the park beneath the interstate and put up 35 mph speed limit signs in the curves.
