It’s been said that Cal State Fullerton (and some other west coast schools, like ASU) have fallen behind in the player dev department as well.

They’ve been left behind in the college baseball arms race.

SoCal use to be basically represented in the Little League World Series every year. Now its Hawaii.

SoCal was the hotbed of youth development kinda in the country and the kids stayed local for College.

Then Soccer Moms happened. You have a million soccer fields in the LA County Area.... And the ones that were produced as great baseball talent are going to programs that care deeply about baseball, which isn't California schools anymore.
