Big Island Hawaii

Heading to the big island to visit a friend next week. Any recommendations? Hike, food, etc.

Tons of recs- what part are you staying in? I graduated from UH-Hilo in 2003 and went back in spring 2022. Hilo hasn’t changed a bit. I love the whole island.

Went a couple of months ago. I’ve been to Maui once and Kauai three times and this is my favorite of the three. If you want to explore the island, plan on driving a lot but it’s worth it.

There aren't a ton of good hikes on the Big Island, Pololu Trail is a good one.
Also we did the night snorkel w/ the Manta Rays and it was amazing. I forget what company it was but it's the one with a Sailing Catamaran.
