quote:
When judgment came to Israel, the first strike came in 605 BC when the armies of Babylon invaded the land.
Not good. Israel had already been destroyed by Assyria and the land was an Assyrian province.
quote:
the greater shakings came in 586 BC
Ahh yes, the year Judah (not Israel) got the arse beating of a lifetime, when Babylon destroyed their temple in Jerusalem (the city named after “Shalayim” the Canaanite sunset god).
quote:
Psalms calls this form of idolatry a "trap". He says these "gods" are still around and they've invaded the U.S. on a spiritual level.
Yes, the psalms and the entire Bible go on and on about all the gods that exist and that they shouldn’t be worshipped. Why does the author use quotes around gods? There were no quotation marks in Hebrew nor Greek. Gods were gods. The Bible says there are many. At least 70 main gods, plus the Father El Elyon (God most High) and the Mother goddess Asherah (the Holy Spirit).
quote:
In the days of the gods, which were dominant evil spirits, they reigned over tribes and nations, infused people with their evil, and mastered civilizations. Kings bowed to them, priests sang their praises, and altars were built in their honor. They were worshipped and dreaded.
Bravo. Deuteronomy 32:8-9. They were dreaded in the same way the Israelites and Judahites feared their god Yahweh.
