Never been. But couple people I admire legally be chilling there, and wonder if they will choose to skip town the next few years.

I can't imagine living in a place with so many liberals no matter how nice the weather is.

Some of us are stuck here because of jobs and extended family. We’d peace the frick out of we could.

And are actively toward it.

My dad’s best bud sold his house there for several million and moved to Florida. The house wasnt even on the beach.

I’ve been out there many times. To San Fran and San Diego too.

You basically said one of the most expensive areas is nice.

The weather there is amazing. I’d move there in a heartbeat if I could when I retire. Either Big Sur or Carmel. So tired of the brutal Texas summers. But, I don’t get wrapped up in political nonsense. Both parties and their elected officials are all crooks in my book. Very few of them enter politics with good intentions and those that do quickly become corrupted by their own desire for power and wealth. So, they can all kiss my arse. I’m going to enjoy my life despite those frickers.

I had numerous job offers in SoCal in 1993 and left after two years there. The first 6 months were great but people are dullards for the most part and all about presentation without any real substance. I found "conservative" bastion, Orange County to not far less conservative than Louisiana so returned. BTW, Shell paid for my apartment on the beach while I was there for two years.

The problem especially with SoCal is that so many from cities in the Northeast and Midwest moved there, PC was prevalent IMO because so many have the secret idea that they will be noticed by Hollywood.

When I was in the SF Bay area in 2002, it was interesting to discover how many retirees moved back from Oregon because it was so insanely leftist, envirowhacko.

No

Actually, the people are wonderful…just as they are everywhere. California is an enormous state, and they have the entire spectrum of human beings. I spend a fair amount of time in the L.A. area, and I’ve always found most of the people delightful.

Haiti also has some insanely beautiful areas. Wouldn't want to live there either.
