Why wouldn't they X-ray? That seems like something worth the effort if having traveled all this way as opposed to just scratching.

Vets watch them walk then jog on concrete and that’s all they have to do to make the call to scratch the horse.

These are the track vets, not the actual vets of the horse. So they are in no way familiar with the horse. They watch it move for like 2 min tops.

I think the connections should be able to X-ray or scan at their own cost and provide the info. Instead, they are scratched right then.
