I've made coffee liquor a few times. It's basically just vodka, simple syrup, concentrated coffee, and a vanilla bean. It gets better the longer you let it age, but is drinkable immediately.
The ingredients cost about as much as a bottle of an off-brand coffee liquor, like Kamora, so I stopped making it.

I find it satisfying to make something out of my kitchen that I enjoy and not simply buying the same product from the store.
When I make things at home, I have control over the ingredients and fix it to suit my tastes and needs.
