Just as the leftist slant from the Daily Mail saying "Wealthy White Residents separate from poor black Baton Rouge" was wrong, this headline is equally as wrong.
Literally all that has happened is the majority of the people living in a defined area within East Baton Rouge Parish, but outside the city limits of Baton Rouge, decided the wanted to incorporate the area into it's own distinct city.
No one seceded from Baton Rouge.
It is a completely lazy and intentional misleading narrative regardless of what side of the debate or political spectrum you fall on.
