And around the same time, we have decided to do away with our decent social and moral contracts. We don't use shame as a way to keep people in line and "normal." In fact, the cultural zeitgiest constantly fights against a singular concept of a "normal" person and everything is allowed. Every year down the slippery slope.

This started in the political arena, which supposed to be above the fray, when the left struck back after the Clinton impeachment. Then all the crazy "Bush is a Nazi stuff." The media had no reason to stay impartial, they suffered no consequences and chased eyeballs and profits over truth. It was already filtering through college campuses, but Obama just blew the gates off with his passive aggressive divisive language and it's been downhill from there.
