There is always an ebb an flow, with a general leftward movement for society, but I think having such a symbol to rally against has permitted the left to get 2 leftward cycles in a row, without the typical rightward rection. Clearly they're getting to places that aren't palatable for moderate America, but what the non-Left needs is a cycle without some other rallying point (like Dobbs was in 2022) appearing out of thin air. We would have seen a yuge right-based reaction in 2022 but-for Dobbs.

it's going to be interesting to hear, once we're all in the communist gulags, why this is actually all the fault of conservatives being conservative.
