None of the LE agencies involved released any of the names. This wasn't a press thing. The Daily Mail tracked them down via other means.
HOWEVER, the press wasn't that interested. Local press always seems to be johnny on the spot in some cases, completely disinterested/locked out in others. So Coulter Rule still applies.

The next of kin was participating in the shootout right alongside him.

Total BS. His next of kin were in the house when his sorry arse got sent straight to hell. No notification needed.
