You have to give them credit for winning the propaganda war here. Just declare all the protests intimidating, threatening, anti-semitic hate speech, then you can justify crackdowns.

You see it bit on here hook, line and sinker. IMO the reason it’s so easy to accomplish is because there’s still a leftover hate for Muslim people stemming from the George W. Bush era.
