I don't think anyone was expecting for her to "do well". It's that we live in a free country, and unless someone is an imminent risk of physical harm to themselves or others, we don't allow other people do dominate their lives. "Keeping her wealthy" isn't sufficient cause.

how about "keeping her alive"?

at this point she's clearly not all there and i think that would absolutely fall within the realm of parental responsibilities to keep her from self-harm.

We don't know how much her caretakers contributed to her alleged mental illness.
