Championships are a rare treat. Everything has to come together at the right time. Seldom does this last more than a couple years. Why, because your star players are gone. We should know this if you have been into sports in your life. It takes time to develop a championship team. So we shouldn't badmouth a team if they don't perform the year after a championship. It's just the way the ball bounces. I'm not surprised at our Baseball and Basketball teams after they won it all. Each lost half of their players. Takes time to recoup.

I get your point but Elite 8 after a natty run is pretty good

There is no excuse to be a bottom of the barrel baseball team with the money and recruiting we have. Absolute failure by the coaches on every level.

Failure is a part of athletics no matter what sport you are talking about
Only one team is happy at the end of the year based on winning a championship and that includes professional sports

Be happy with the titles you have accumulated and won in a variety of sports at LSU and enjoy the journey even it takes longer to win the next one.

A championship is so hard to come by though.

I understand that an Elite 8 is preferable after a championship.

But the linear thinking for me is this:

A title
+
A no show is better than a

Final four
+
A subsequent final four.

The pieces, circumstance and luck have to find their spots in a champ year. We actually did it. So while a no show would suck, horrifically, look at the teams that show up often but never make it.

It sucks being a Bills fan.

It does not suck being an LSU FAN.

Straw man argument that anyone upset with the team is unrealistically expecting another championship run.

How about not being in the conversation for worst team in the league? Or is that asking too much?

Yes they do, LSU will always be the 2023 champion. Nothing will change that. That literally is forever

Only catastrophe-syndrome LSU fans are putting them in this conversation. No rational person is.

Teams like FSU and Arky and TCU among others would kill to win a Natty then suck the following year.

Only delusional fools expect national titles regularly.

But….. what really disturbs most fans is the lack of consistency. The huge drop offs. That should never be acceptable.

Alabama and Georgia aren’t winning national titles in football every year, but they sure as hell aren’t falling off a cliff either. They are still winning 11+ games every year.

It shouldn’t be that difficult to maintain a consistent baseball program here with everything at the programs disposal. A +.500 SEC record every year shouldn’t be that difficult to attain. Expecting a winning SEC record every year is not some delusional expectation for an LSU baseball fan to have.

True…but how often do you have 13 players drafted from the previous baseball team? It was a special year with a crazy amount of experience. And guys like Hurd, Kling, Neal, Guidry, Bingham, Loer etc haven’t lived up to expectations. Combine that with still not having Shores and Noot available (Noot barely ready)..it’s a recipe for struggling in SEC.
