BECAUSE dumb people didn't understand that calling something a vaccine doesn't mean it is 100% effective and doesn't mean you can't still spread a virus. A vaccine helps fight a virus inside your body. If a virus is present inside your body, you can be contagious.
Also, I read about the vaccines and decided I didn't need to get one due to being in my 30s and in good health. Others could have come to the same conclusion.
Some companies with bad leadership mandated vaccines, but there was no state-wide mandate in Louisiana. only about 10% of my peers got the vax (hospital workers)
