Not only has tipping culture going off the rails but the begging for donations by retail establishments in the checkout line is out of control too. No, I'm not rounding up. No, I'm not adding a dollar.

There’s no way that stuff goes to charity huh? Or is it just a way for the company to say “Hey we donated ex amount of dollars to so and so this year!” Even though it really isn’t their money that they’re donating.

Corporations do this so that all of the money ‘they’ donate to the charity can be writen off on their taxes.

And for that reason alone- I never found up. I’d rather donate directly rather than help a random company / corporation with a tax break.
