It was stated earlier in this thread but someone died doing exactly what he was doing a few weeks back.

There are better ways to get your rocks off.

Flying is inherently dangerous, but risks can be mitigated. He'd have gotten the same thrill in an ultralight with a nice fabric wing and avoided the whole issue of cords.

People die doing safe things all the time. He is taking off from the ground with a literal parachute on, maybe his issue was he was going 48mph and if he was going slower it would be safer? Less chance for his chute to collapse? I’m just saying it seems safer to fly in a literal parachute then it does in say a Cessna?

One of the reasons people die in these types of things is not because they are dangerous, but because people do stupid shite in them.
