I would have to agree.
Young OKC team - can't beat
Young Celtics team - cant beat
Young Magic team - cant beat
young Minn team - wouldn't beat them right now
Can't beat older Denver, lakers or old Bucks team. wouldn't beat Dallas after they upgraded.

One thing i know, if you dont have 2 "dogs" who can score at will, it wont work.
IF Z develops a jumper, we have one. And the only reason i say that is b/c the light bulb went off and he is playing defense.
Herb, with his improved 3 shot and D, is a keeper, but isn't great at creating his own shot so i wouldn't put him in that category.

I thought we had one in BI. Mostly b/c of his all around game. But not the case when the playoffs hit and players begin to play defense, he struggles too much.

Trey, Hawk, Daniels etc = all good players but not all star level. Trey is a B+ player.
CJ is close to being on his way out.

Honestly not sure how to get this turned around. Putting 4 shooters around Z isn't the answer.

This isn’t a pat on the back sort of post, but I complained most of the season about where the Pelicans were in comparison to the Thunder and Wolves. Even when things were looking pretty, they were never quite as pretty as those two franchises. Just two or three years ago the three franchises were often held in comparison to one another, and a lot of people would consistently say they’d take our young core over those others. Fast forward to now, we are about to be swept by OKC and Minnesota is about to sweep Phoenix. It’s really sad to look at the path they’ve taken vs our Pelicans just stuck in mud. This is a point that should be talked about more frequently, imo.
