Have you done something for someone like maybe your girlfriend and she got pissed off at you for doing it.
Decades ago, I was dating a girl that now I look back realize she was bipolar.
She had jury duty so as a favor, I went by and put money in the meter by her car so she wouldn’t get a ticket.
After she found that I put money in the meter for she got pissed off jumped all over me and said I can take care of things myself. I don’t need someone else doing it for me.
I’m so glad I didn’t pursue things further with her. She was a fricking psycho. She’s also a schoolteacher poor kids.

No good deed goes unpunished

I give my ex wife a pretty decent living every month and will for 9 more years and she still hates me.

That doesn’t sound bipolar that sounds like a girlfriend.
Philosophically “ no good deed goes unpunished “ is an iron law. It’s the lesson that destroys the “ safe world view” of generous people. You think your generosity will be met in kind. It actually creates a power imbalance that often creates resentment that creates your buddy taking your generosity and then never talking to you again. If you help anyone, do it for the intrinsic value of doing it, because a large percentage of people will just subconsciously resent you for helping them.

I would have ended that relationship right there, on the spot.

I’ve been with my wife for a total (dating and marriage) of nearly 20 years now. Now, that’s not to say that she always appreciates the things I do for her as much as I think it should be appreciated, but she has never, not once, pulled the kind of stunt OP’s girlfriend did

One thing I realized a long time ago if you do something for a woman there is a good way and a bad way she will take it she will always take it the bad way.

That gif was more implying the OP (And your response) was very Seinfeldian

And God will continue to bless you and your family likely more than you could’ve imagined after going through your divorce. If you don’t want call it a blessing, call it karma.

My GF of about 3 months was going out of town for a week and asked me to feed her cat…the night before her very early flight she made me dinner and we then got distracted vs thoroughly cleaning the kitchen. Later that day when I came to feed the cat, I cleaned the dishes, pots etc and put everything away.
She was furious with me for cleaning…never could understand it…relationship didn’t last long after that.
