Is it just me, or is it almost irrelevant what you do during the routine? Vanilla routines with stuck landings are scoring well, but incredible difficulty with a slight step at landing is getting scored less.

Yes, because the small stick is 0,05 to a 0,1. Form deductions are not seriously/consistently taken so you have no separation between the good and the great. Konnor's bars is so poorly rewarded in that context. She has a pristine swing but still has not found that dismount, so she'll only get 9.95s if a given judge tries to reward her outstanding work somehow.
